Laptop computers

Laptops are portable computers. They have the same features and components but are built with the main purpose of easy mobility.

Laptops are implemented in schools for the use of one to one programming - one laptop per student. These laptops are either funded by the school or by the student himself on its own discretion. The outcome that this program has is controversial.

The implementation of laptops in schools is to provide students with a variety of external online resources and the use of electronic textbooks which is environmentally friendly. It creates a more interactive environment for learning.

The main ethical concern with laptops is security and a social concern is equality. Laptops can be easily be lost or stolen and tampered with. If the school tells students to supply themselves with their own laptops, then this raises concern of financial backgrounds and how many students can actually afford it. If the school provides the laptops, it will be a major investment. Statistics show that with the implementation of laptops in schools, education standards have risen.
